The ministry invited the students of Al Falah School on the 12th of Dec 2011 in the ministry building in order to identify its efforts in Oryx protection in state of Qatar, whereat the lecture on the title of “Arabian Oryx” has been covered.
Some educational employees of public relation and communication unit were among the speakers.
The discussions went smoothly putting emphasis on the history of environment, brief definition on the responsibility likewise the ministry efforts toward environment and for Oryx protection in the state.
They presented sufficient explanation about Oryx habitat in the country.
Moreover , many kinds of Oryx have swarmed in Arabian Peninsula including ( Alwadyhi) and others however; they are threatened by extinction as was evidently displayed in this lecture.
Worth mentioning, the role of state of Qatar in preserving Arabian Oryx and other wildlife is to keep guarding them from hunting through generations.
To strengthen its commitment, the ministry has enforced some laws limiting the duration of wild hunting season, aiming to wildlife protection.
Further, the state also considers the experiences of the experts for this matter and providing reservation which is located in Al Shaaneia area.
This lecture ended with displaying some library books of the ministry to benefit the students on how to carry out environmental researches.
